Terms and Conditions of Use
The following terms of use apply to all areas of The Gill Payne Partnership Ltd's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and connected services. This code is in addition to all other Gill Payne Partnership Ltd terms, conditions and policies.
Access
All visitors to The Gill Payne Partnership Ltd's web site are permitted access to the materials and our Virtual Learning Environment* and connecting services in accordance with these terms. Access may be restricted or removed due to misuse.
*The services offered on the VLE are subject to change without notice and some courses may have restricted access requiring payment prior to entry to the course.
Terms of Use
When using The Gill Payne Partnership Ltd's web site, VLE and connecting services, users must...
- Respect the rights of others;
- Remember to log out at the end of each session;
- Comply with current and future legislation* including:
- The Data Protection Act 1998;
- Copyright, Designs & Patents Act 1988;
- Computer Misuse Act 1990;
- Telecommunications Act 1984;
- Protection from Harassment Act 1997;
*Copies of these acts are available either online. If any visitor, site user is found to be breaking the law legal sanctions will apply and their details will be passed to the relevant authorities.
The following are not permitted at any time:
- The creation, display, production, storage, circulation or transmission of pornographic or other offensive material in any form or medium. (Including sending, posting or displaying offensive images, language or any other type of offensive content including the bullying, harassment or intimidation of others.)
- Users must not create, store or transmit:
- Defamatory or libellous material;
- Material that infringes copyright;
- Unsolicited commercial or advertising material;
- Intentionally providing or submitting false information;
- Intentionally restricting network traffic with high bandwidth use;
- Flooding forums and other services unnecessarily or with inappropriate content/material;
- Editing or modifying any element of the VLE without permission;
- Using others' passwords or log-in identities;
- Deliberately introducing any virus, worm, Trojan horse or other harmful or nuisance programme or file, or deliberately circumventing any precautions taken by The Gill Payne Partnership Ltd to prevent this from happening;
- Using any service for commercial purposes or profit;
- Using any service for political purposes;
- Copying any code, software or content provided without prior written permission;
- Providing access to non-members without prior written permission;
- Violating copyright laws, data protection laws and computer misuse laws;
Action on Breach
Should a site visitor or user contravene these Terms and Conditions or any other Policy related to the use of the VLE, the offence will be logged and the following action will be taken:
- The user's account will be blocked forthwith and subsequently deleted;
- The logged IP address will be permanently blocked;
- If appropriate, the employer of the user of this service will be advised of the nature of the breach and the action taken;
- Legal action against the user or site visitor may be taken.
Discussion Forum Specific Use
Discussion forums are provided for questions and general discussion about topics relating to the development of self, staff or your organisation.
You will need to be registered on this site to post topics for discussion or reply to others topics. Registration is free from the Log In area on the front page.
IMPORTANT NOTE: In accessing any discussion forum you accept and agree to the following:
- Not to use defamatory, abusive or foul (bad) language against anyone at any time;
- That any comment or opinion provided by staff at The Gill Payne Partnership Ltd is provided in good faith and should be confirmed with other sources prior to using;
- That the opinions or comments made by general users and visitors to this site are not the the opinion or comment of The Gill Payne Partnership Ltd and that The Gill Payne Partnership Ltd will not be held liable or responsible for those comments or opinions nor for any consequences resulting from them;
- The Gill Payne Partnership Ltd does not provide careers advice or guidance;
- The Gill Payne Partnership Ltd will make every effort to ensure that the information within this discussion forum is accurate and up-to-date however, The Gill Payne Partnership Ltd will not be held liable or responsible for the information nor for any consequences resulting from the information;
Any person or persons found to be missusing this forum and or web site contrary to the above or in the opinion of The Gill Payne Partnership Ltd will have their access to this site as a 'user' or 'visitor' terminated and their details removed. If that person or persons is accessing this web site and forums because they are associated with one of our clients, their information and the reasons for their ejection will be passed to the relevant client manager.
