Personnel NVQs (national vocational qualifications) are aimed at people in personnel roles across all occupations and sectors of employment.
Like all NVQs, these management qualifications are competence based. This means that it is linked to the candidate's ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work. Candidates plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role.
The Personnel Support NVQ at Level 3 is for personnel professionals working in a role involving the support of the development, management and representation of personnel in the workforce. It gives them an opportunity to develop their performance in thir job, to become more effective and to progress their career in the personnel area. There are three mandatory units, covering the key competences, and learners can then choose from a range of optional units which allow them to tailor the programme to their and their employer's needs.

The Personnel Strategy NVQ at Level 5 is for personnel professionals working in a senior role involving the development, management and implementation of personnel strategies in medium to large organisations. It also gives them an opportunity to develop their performance, become more effective and progress their career in the personnel area. There are seven mandatory units, covering the key competences, and you can then choose from a range of optional units which allow you to tailor the programme to learners and employers needs.
