We deliver a range of training courses lasting from ½-day to 5 days, dependent on the skills being delivered and the outcomes required. Our areas of delivery include (this is not a finite list):
This is an example course and as such this course can easily be tailored to your specific organisational training or skills need. Training courses can be specifically developed for your people in Management, Sales, Human Resources, Personnel, Health and Safety and other 'soft skills' areas.
For staff to develop an assertive style and to recognise the difference between assertive and aggressive behaviour.
By the end of the training, staff will be able to:
This is aimed at staff who have responsibility for dealing with people. It does not necessarily mean that those that attend will be managing or supervising others, although, in practice, this is the usual sort of person who attends.
It is geared towards those who need to develop an assertive style. Those who attend may be from one end of the scale to the other e.g. there may be some staff who are submissive and will let others walk all over them and there may be others who are aggressive who do the walking!
½-Day
The session is designed to be highly participative. A mixture of methods will be used which will include direct input from the trainer, individual exercises, group work and role play.
It is suggested that the performance is monitored regularly. Unfortunately, trainers do not have a magic wand and those who attend will need to practice the development of an assertive style.
It is suggested that the best way of doing this is for a mentor to be appointed. This person may be the line manager. Performance should be monitored initially on a weekly basis.
An alternative is to consider a programme of development in either the form of one of our Management Programmes such as our Developing Manager Programme, or one of the ILM Certificates such as the Certificate in First Line Management. There is also the added option of a Management NVQ.
