Course – NVQ Internal Verifier Training (Unit V1)

Note: This is an example of our generic face-to-face NVQ Internal Verifier training course. All of our generic courses are tailored to utilise your own organisation's systems, policies or procedures. This course is available Online.

Who is this course aimed at?

This course is aimed at those with either no prior experience as an ‘Internal Verifier’ or experienced NVQ Assessors who are going to be undertaking their NVQ Internal Verifier Award, Unit V1.

Course Duration

This depends on the individual or organization as follows:

For organisations setting up as a new centre and/or where the proposed Internal Verifier has no prior experience, this course will last 2-days;
For experienced NVQ Assessors moving into the Internal Verifier role, this course may be 1-day.

How will the course be delivered?

This course will be delivered in a small group environment which is highly interactive. It will include individual work, group work, working in pairs and discussions. This course can also be delivered on a coaching (one-to-one) basis when needed.

All delegates will be encouraged throughout to participate by working within syndicates that are changed regularly, within the main group. Delegates will be introduced to various models and current thinking and best practice in training design and delivery.

Course delegates will produce an Assessment Plan at the end of this session and complete the Candidate Registration Document for the NVQ Internal Verifier Award.

Post Course Support

This course can have the benefit of a Post Course Support environment for 6 months after the training sessions at our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) at www.123skilled.com; Our VLE will provide copies of all learning materials and tools plus a File Repository, Jargon Buster Glossary, Discussion Forum to share common knowledge and Private Messaging Systems for one-to-one contact with trainers or course delegates.

Skype Video Conferencing is also available as a post course support option.

As The Gill Payne Partnership Ltd is interested in what the delegates do with their newly learned skills, all delegates will be encouraged to email or telephone course trainers beyond the training days should they have further questions or queries.

As this course is the pre-cursor to the NVQ Internal Verifier Award, all delegates going on to complete this award will be allocated an Assessor to provide direct post-course support, guidance and assessment.

Course Aim

For you to be able to learn the skills of an Internal Verifier in working towards the completion of your NVQ Internal Verifier Award.

Objectives

By the end of the session, the candidate will be able to:

State the roles and responsibilities of all involved in the Assessment process;
Review systems and procedures necessary for effective NVQ delivery;
Identify what internal verification is and what it isn’t!
Put a plan together to support the Assessment team;
Know how to observe Assessors;
Carry out standardisation meetings;
Carry out internal verification;
State what needs to be assembled when preparing for external verification.
