Course Aim:

For the delegate to be able to understand Data Protection Law and the EU GDPR and to state the obligations that the regulations impose on organisations and individuals, and the rights of Data Subjects, and for the delegate to gain the knowledge and understanding to be able to fulfil the role of the Data Protection Officer.

The course will cover 8 Units:

001 Understand the Principles, Scope and requirements of Data Protection Law and the GDPR

002 Explain the role of Governance and Management in Data Protection

003 Identify, understand and explain the components in delivering an effective Privacy Framework

004 Identify and explain the roles and responsibilities of the individuals and teams involved in the Privacy Framework and in ensuring Data Protection Law, and GDPR Compliance

005 Explain the roles, responsibilities and obligations on Data Controllers and Data Processors under Data Protection Law and GDPR

006 Understand and explain the rights afforded to Data Subjects under Data Protection Law and GDPR

007 Explain the role of a Supervisory Authority and the options, and penalties open to the SA in ensuring compliance with Data Protection Law and GDPR and managing breaches

008 Understand the responsibilities and obligations imposed on organisations in respect of Personal Data in relation to Law Enforcement and National Security

This is a course aimed at those identified individuals who will take responsibility for the readying of the organisation for GDPR compliance and, delivering and maintaining compliance solution.

Prerequisites to attending this course and delivery method:

There are no prior requirements to attending this course. Attendance on the GDPR Essentials course is not required for this course as the content of the GDPR Essential course is built into this larger programme. The course is delivered face-to-face as a group. It will be interactive involving group and individual exercises, visual aids, case studies and group discussion.

Handouts will be provided in digital form as PDFs and other Microsoft Office file formats. The PDF handouts will have Comments Enabled to allow you to make notes directly onto the file. If you prefer a hard copy of the handouts, you can print these and bring them with you or we can provide a set for a small cost.
