This qualification is intended for those who lead a team of internal quality assurance staff.

How does the candidate achieve this qualification?

The Unit 401 is a knowledge Unit and as such, Unit 401 candidates working towards this qualification will not directly internally quality assurer but will have to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding required to prove that they know and ‘understand the internal quality assurance of assessment processes and practice’.

Unit 402/403 are the performance Units and as such, Unit 402/403 candidates will have to demonstrate their competence by internally quality assuring assessors, systems and leading a team of assessors.

Training

Unit 401/402/403 candidates will either:

  • attend a face-to-face closed training session within a group of candidate within a single organisation, or
  • attend a face-to-face open training session with a group of mixed candidates, or
  • work through the Online Learning Materials (distance learning) for this Unit.

Assessment

Once the training has been completed, Unit 401/402/403 candidates will have to complete an assignment/professional discussion to explain in detail to show that they know and understand ‘the internal quality assurance of assessment processes and practice’ plus provide evidence as per the assessment plan of their competence as Internal Quality Assurers in the work environment.

To complete Unit 402/403 Internal Quality Assurer Candidates MUST be observed internally quality assuring assessors, systems and leading a team of assessors.

This assignment and evidence can be submitted via an ePortfolio or by Paper Based Portfolio (postal submission).
