Programme Overview

Training Content

The content of the training part of the programme is focussed on delivering the knowledge and understanding required of an an assessor and will introduce and make use of, the standards that the candidate assessors will be assessing people against post programme.

Practice Session

After the training content has been delivered and we are comfortable that the candidate assessors are ready to put their learning into practice, then there will either be an immediate practice session (Fast-Track Only) or the candidate assessors will return to their workplace to start to assess real people, knowledge and/or work under the guidance of the organisation\’s Internal Verifiers (IV) / Internal Quality Assurers (IQA).

Summative Assessment

Once the \’putting the learning into practice\’ session is satisfactorily completed and we are satisfied that the candidate assessors are ready for summative assessment, this will take place with real people either demonstrating their knowledge and understanding or their competence in the workplace or both of these.

This will either happen immediately after the practice session (Fast-Track Only) or at a planned period after the practice is complete.

Candidate assessors then return to their workplaces in order to put their learning into practice under the guidance of the IV/IQA within the organisation. Once the IV/IQA is satisfied that the candidate assessors are ready for summative assessment, we plan dates to attend the location where the candidate assessors will demonstrate their competence against the standards appropriate to the type of assessment activities they are undertaking, whilst being observed as required by the assessor standards.

Candidate assessors will be responsible for generating and gathering the physical evidence required to prove their competence against the standard however, this process of evidence gathering will be supported by us.
