Supporting the WI – Inspiring Women who are Inspiring Women

This year the WI (Womens’ Institute) celebrates 100 years with the new slogan of ‘Inspiring Women for 100 years’ and there are many events around the UK which join in this celebration.

Last year I was invited to assist technically and with photography at the 2014 Humberside WI AGM, this year I was invited back again by the local Chair Susan Hawney and I was delighted to accept this invitation.

I find that I thoroughly enjoy these events meeting a wonderful group of women, of many backgrounds, of many ages (one lady this year was celebrating 80 years in the WI) and talents. 

Each AGM also has an invited guest to speak and this year a ‘local lass’ and actress, Julie Peasgood – an ‘inspiring woman’ for sure – gave an enlightening and humorous rendition of her life as an Actress, from the early days treading the boards to her current successes.

The Gill Payne Partnership Ltd is led by an ‘inspiring woman’ (I’m biased too as she is my wife and co-director but she really is inspiring), and Gill too was invited as a guest by the Susan so we all had a most enjoyable day.

Congratulations to the WI on 100 years of inspiring women to fulfil their lives and desires, may you continue for many years more.
